The junior cycling team SpiderTech powered by Powerwatts announces the signing of five new junior cyclists, finalizing its team for the next season.  This new junior team benefits from the endorsement of Steve Bauer's professional team SpiderTech p/b Planet Energy. Over the next few weeks, a second SpiderTech junior team will be announced in Ontario. The objective is to create an integrated sport system where athletes, trainers and sport directors work together in order to offer the best possible environment to develop future cyclists.

The selected young athletes all submitted applications which included a letter of motivation, a sports resume as well as their last academic report card.

After the initial selection of Alex Cataford, Frédéric Cossette, Lambert Gatineau, Émile Jean and Alexis Pinard, the team managed by Claude Pinard, François Cossette and Chris Rozdilsky will now be able to count on the following five additional cyclists next year:

Joakim Albert: road and track Québec champion many times over, Joakim is a time trial specialist and excellent sprinter. He will perfect his training by taking part in the long and short track speed skating circuit.

Audrey Bernard: Quebec champion many times over in cycling development categories, Audrey excels in the time trial event. Coming back from a sabbatical year, during which she missed cycling a lot, Audrey admitted that she is finally enjoying suffering on her bike again while training.

Alizée Brien: Quebec champion many times over in triathlon in her category, Alizée will try road cycling next year. Therefore, she will progressively make her debut with the team.

Justine Dallaire: Returning after a difficult season because of mononucleosis, Justine has ambitious objectives for the next cycling season.

Laurie Dumas: Laurie has also great ambitions. Building on one year of experience and podiums, she will be able to count on team mates next year and benefit from the team strategies. Laurie's goal is to join Quebec's provincial team.

The team also announces the nomination of Audrey Lemieux as the mentor for these female athletes. "We are proud to count on the collaboration of Audrey for next year. A seasoned cyclist with international experience, Audrey will be able to support and guide the athletes in the pursuit of their careers," said Chris Rozdilsky.

Audrey's nomination as mentor fits perfectly with the team's mission, which is to ensure the supervision of its athletes by various cycling professionals and sport professionals in general.
