Posted by Editor on 01/5/11

Saturday night racing resumes this Saturday night at the Forest City Velodrome. Racing will include Endurance races for Youth, Juniors, Masters and Elite racers. Also added to the program is a Sprint tournament.

Racing begins Saturday, January 8th at 7:00 pm.

In other FCV news:

• Local Tim Horton's retail locations in London have stepped to the plate for the second year and will be sponsoring the Tim Horton's "Always Fresh" Winter Nationals on Saturday, January 29th. The competition will be a timed four event Omnium format. Racing will begin at Noon (tech guide will be soon available). The FCV Youth racers will compete with youth riders from Detroit coming to London to test their winter legs. Cadet, Junior, Masters and Elite racers will be racing throughout the afternoon and evening.

• Another one of our corporate partners of the Forest City Velodrome, Boston Pizza on Wellington Rd in London, have come up with a great meal deal. During the Thor Espresso Bar (Toronto-London) Challenge at the FCV, every spectator will receive a coupon for a discount on their dinner at Boston Pizza. The coupon must be used on the Saturday evening (February 5th) between 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

This promotion will allow spectators to come and watch the first couple hours of racing then go for dinner and come back to watch the Finale. With over $5,000.00 in prizes, $2,500 to the winner .... the Thor Espresso Bar Challenge is going to be one of the largest races in Ontario in 2011.

The entire race distance is 190.350 kilometres, the exact distance of the Toronto - London Classic road race of the 1960's.
