Cycling Canada is pleased to announce the formation of a new cyclo-cross working group. Made up of various stakeholders from the Canadian cyclo-cross community, the objectives of this new initiative are to improve communications and planning around the Canadian cyclo-cross program. The working group has been tasked with developing a sustainable cyclo-cross program, exploring funding opportunities and identifying and engaging leaders in the Canadian cyclo-cross community to help drive these initiatives.

Scott Kelly has been named Program Manager for the cyclo-cross Program. Scott has been a staff member with Cycling Canada for the past three Cyclo-cross World Championships and has attended an additional 9 World Championships, the 2012 London Olympics and the 2011 Pan American Games as staff for Cycling Canada. He will work with the members of the new working group to support Cycling Canada's goal providing a sustainable and successful Cyclo-cross program.

The cyclo-cross working group has drafted selection criteria for athletes who wish to compete at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Las Vegas on Sept. 16. These criteria can be downloaded Here.

Cyclo-cross programming and selection criteria for the full 2015-2016 will follow in the coming weeks. Any inquiries regarding the Canadian cyclo-cross program can be directed to off-road coordinator Jennifer Mahoney at jennifer.mahoney@cyclingcanada.ca.
