Mackenzie Myatt, today won gold at the US Collegiate Road Nationals held in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is her 2nd national championship this school year.  The first was for mountain biking in the Fall.

Myatt (20) has competed in two Canada Games for Nova Scotia, at World Cups in Europe and just this past year, she won the USA Cycling Varsity Mountain Biking Championship in the US where she goes to school on a full athletic scholarship. She also won a silver medal at the Canadian National Mountain Bike Championships last July.

Myatt is also a participant in Cycling Canada's Mountain Bike NextGen development program for Canadian cyclists under 23. In the last couple of months, she has been training at the National Cycling Centre in Victoria, racing in California, and will return to Europe this month to gain more international experience racing mountain bike World Cups in Germany and the Czech Republic. She will then race in the Canadian mountain bike nationals in Alberta later this summer with hopes to qualify for the world championships in Switzerland in September.

Sponsored by Trek's new Great Athletes Ride Trek (GART) program and Cyclesmith locally in Halifax, Myatt is also a scholarship student at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia. She is from Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia and also a Fast and Female Ambassador. 

Myatt returns to Halifax Monday, May 7th then on to Europe on May 14th to race two mountain bike World Cups with Team Canada.
