Ottawa Pilot Session for Two New CAAWS Workshops

Two new sessions are being prepared to be part of the CAAWS' (Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport) Women and Leadership program. Pilot presentations of the workshops, Work-Life Balance and Building Your Support Network wil be held in various cities in Canada early this year. The first sessions will be held in Ottawa.

Friday, Feb 24, 2006 - Work-Life Balance

Location: RA Centre, 2451 Riverside Drive in room Courtside B.

12:00 noon - 12:30 p.m - Lunch and networking

12:30 - 2:00 pm. - Workshops

Cost: $20 for both workshops or $12 for one

Call for Nominations - Bobbie Steen Awards

The Bobbie Steen Awards of Excellence were created and funded to recognize outstanding individuals or organizations who demonstrate exemplary leadership in sport and recreation making a contribution to promote access and opportunity for girls and women in the province of BC. In partnership with BC Games Society, BCRPA, Sport BC and Sport Branch (Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts, BC Government), ProMOTION Plus will be awarding two (2) Bobbie Steen Awards of Excellence, one as a Career Achievement Award and one as a Development Award.

The Bobbie Steen Legacy Foundation provides financial support to charitable activities dedicated to advancing gender equity in physical activity and sport and/or the community betterment resulting from female involvement in physical activity and sport. The Bobbie Steen Legacy Foundation Award in the amount of $1000 is awarded to an emerging leader whose dedication to the women and girls of BC parallels those of Bobbie Steen and the Foundation. The deadline for nominations for both awards is February 13th, 2006.
