Ride with Rendall/ Peak Winter Series: Stage 10

Prior to the start of Stage 10 of the Ride with Rendall/ Peak Winter Series everyone was speculating if the Series Time Trial course records would be broken. The men's record of 34:36.7 seemed to be in jeopardy as Aaron Fillion (Ottawa Bicycle Club) once again stormed to a win in the stage however his time of 34:42.0 was just shy of the mark. Aaron's closest rival was RWR team rider Warren MacDonald who record a personal best on the time trial course with a time of 35:36.9.

The woman's field saw a showdown between Biovale teammates Amanda Shaw and Jen Stephenson. Jen's time of 42:42.6 was good enough for second place while Amanda recorded a PB and took the Stage win with 40.58.0. Triathlete Monica Kvas put together a solid ride to take third place for her first podium of the series.

While many of the top riders failed to produce personal bests this past weekend, there were some notable rides and PB happening throughout the field. Special mention has to go out to 2005 U-15 Cyclocross bronze medalist Kiernan Orange who knocked a staggering 7minutes 52seconds off his previous best on his way to a time of 52:43.6.

Stage 11 will take place this upcoming weekend at the Peak Centre for Human Performance. The course will be longer than normal as the stage race hits it's first of 3 long courses in the 16 race series. Expected finish times for the winners will be just under the hour. To book your heat and start time call the Peak Centre in Ottawa at 613-737-PEAK ,604-299-7959 in Vancouver and 514-341-PEAK in Montreal.
