Rob Good from the Forest City Velodrome won the Syl Apps Award at 39th Annual Ontario Sports Awards last night at the BMO Training Centre in Toronto.

Health Promotion Minister Jim Watson presented the awards to top performing athletes and coaches for 2005 at the annual Ontario Sports Awards dinner tonight.

The Ontario Sport Awards is a program of the Ministry of Health Promotion delivered by the Sport Alliance of Ontario. They recognize the top achievements in Sport for Ontarians in seven participant categories: Male Athlete, Female Athlete, Male Athlete with a Disability, Female Athlete with a Disability, Team of the Year, Male Coach, and Female Coach.

The Syl Apps award recognizes Ontario volunteers who have contributed to sport within the province. The Corporate Citation is presented annually by the Province of Ontario to corporations that have been a leader in supporting sport through sustained corporate involvement over several years. And the Rolf Lund Jule Nisse award recognizes the volunteer who has made a "playground to podium" commitment to sport throughout their life.
