It was Keirin night at the Forest City Velodrome last night (Saturday, October 14th), sponsored by Yellow Pages. The moped used to the pace the pack for the first part of each heat proved to be a little slow for the speedsters and was replaced by a masked man. Rumours have the pacer to be none other than Rob Good. The overall winner at the conclusion of the 9 heats was Keith Thorarison.

Other events such as Scratch races, Miss and Out, and Team Sprints kept the spectators entertained and the program concluded with an exceptionally hard fought Madison. The team of Eric Robertson and Stephen Meyer managed to get a lap on the team of Vince DeJong and Ryan Crawford in the last few moments to break the tie they were in for first place.

Friday night (October 20th) sees the start of the Six-day Team Relay race, with top competitors from across the country taking part. The race will be Oct 20, 21, 22, and Oct 27, 28 and 29th. Racing on Fridays and Saturdays starts at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm.

The race on Sunday, October 22nd will be in honour of Joe DeMaeyer, who passed away recently. There will be a special tribute to Joe at 2:00 pm before the start of the race.
