From the creators of the largest adventure race in the world comes the next big event to hit the world of endurance sport. Introducing SEVEN - an incredible seven-day mountain bike stage race like no other!

SEVEN kicks off in style on July 1st, 2007, amid festive Canada Day celebrations in Victoria, British Columbia. Over the course of seven days, or stages, 150 two-person teams will spin, grind and grunt their way from the southern tip of Vancouver Island, to the eclectic Sunshine Coast, to the mountainous Whistler Valley. 07.07.07 marks the day of triumph and tears as teams celebrate completing the final stage in spectacular Whistler, B.C.

SEVEN's current limited-release website - www.sevenbikerace.com - teases prospective competitors with just enough information to build serious anticipation for the more elaborate version, due for release mid-November.

Race registration opens on January 1, 2007 and will be restricted to just 150 teams of 2 competitors for this very special, inaugural race. SEVEN's entry fees will be competitive with those of the other four comparable mountain bike stage races in the field.

Andreas Hestler, world-class endurance mountain bike athlete and consecutive three-time winner of the TransRockies Challenge, leapt at the opportunity to become SEVEN's Course Designer and Spokesperson. Hestler, who knows an exceptional race when he sees one, raves, "Out of the gate, this event is shaping up to be one of the most exciting multi-day mountain bike stage races on the planet! It will emphasize all that is great about the coast of British Columbia - the hospitable people, the dramatic landscape, the adventure, and of course the very best mountain biking in the world!"

Produced by a west coast-based veteran group of passionate individuals in the endurance event field, the exceptional and incomparable race route leads athletes through the best of BC's breathtaking scenery, eclectic communities, and phenomenal mountain biking, which is truly some of the finest on the planet. Athletes will pedal more than 500kms, ride three ferries, and fly high on ziplines during the course of their epic journey.

SEVEN founder, Dean Payne, has extensive experience in the Adventure Race industry, having started the incredibly successful Sea2Summit race series and run it for more than 11 years. Thanks to his reputation and far-reaching connections, Payne has assembled an all-star supporting cast for SEVEN and has already landed several significant sponsors who've proudly stamped their names on the event.

Payne is clearly pumped about this new event, "B.C. is the premier place on the planet to mountain bike. And everyone behind SEVEN wants it to be a challenging race that excites the senses. Simply put, our goal is to provide the best stage race experience in the world!"
