Operacion Puerto Investigation Finds EPO Evidence

Spanish press are reporting that several blood samples seized in the Operacion Puerto investigation have been found to contain traces of EPO. Eight samples have been found to contain the blood doping substance reports say, quoting an analysis from an official anti-doping laboratory in Barcelona. There were no names reported with the contaminated samples. The laboratory has only analyzed some of the 99 blood samples seized,so the number of positive doping samples could increase.

The Spanish newspaper EL Pais said the fact that EPO had been detected in blood samples indicated that those involved "did not have the proceedings quite under control."
