AP Picks Landis

AP (Associated Press) picked Floyd Landis and Justin Gatlin as the athletes at the center of the biggest sports scandals of 2006. Both Landis and Gatlin had positive testosterone results (actually abnormal ratios of testosterone to epitestosterone) announced at the end of July - Landis after an amazing comeback on Stage 17 to win the Tour de France. Gatling equalled the world record for the 100 meter sprint, and his positive test for testosterone and steriods came at the end of April.

Gatlin is fighting an eight year suspension, while Landis is still technically the winner of the Tour - pending the decision of a USADA panel expected in January or February.
