Position: Sport Coordinator (BMX and Mountain Bike), full-time

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include administrative tasks, program planning, event coordination and management related to the BMX and Mountain Bike sectors of a provincial sport organization.

Specific tasks will include events coordination, encompassing the assigning of officials, working with organizers and officials prior to events, ensuring proper communication surrounding events, and representing the Alberta Bicycle Association at events. Program planning will consist of organization and execution of clinics, courses, and other activities related to the BMX and Mountain Bike sectors. General administrative duties will include maintaining series standings, contributing to Association website and Newsletter, and general office duties.

A suitable candidate for the position will have a post-secondary degree in Sport or Recreation, or related experience. Candidates must be comfortable working with computers; experience with Microsoft Excel is desirable. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, and bring a high level of energy to the position.

The Sport Coordinator will work closely with ABA Committees and staff in the execution of his/her duties. The position will require significant schedule flexibility, with many weekend commitments and occasional evening commitments. The Sport Coordinator must be willing to travel extensively in-province.

Hours of Work: The BMX Coordinator position will be full-time (37.5 hrs/week). This position will be based in Calgary, Alberta.

Salary: $32,000 per annum
