Provincial Championship Returns To Westside On New Course & New Date!

The Wedgewood Cycling Team are pleased to announce this years Westside Cycling Classic will be held on Sunday June 3rd 2007 as part of the team's ongoing fundraising efforts for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Set against the backdrop of the University of British Columbia, the Pacific Spirit Park and on the edge of the Point Grey Village the race will be a hard fought battle on a 10.5km loop which will include roads very familiar to local cyclists.

"This is a great race and I am very excited to bring Formwerks on board again" explained Howard Airey whose company returns as title sponsor for the second year.

The race will again be sanctioned as the Provincial Championships for the second year and will have a prize purse in excess of $5'000.

"The Westside Classic course will be completely closed to traffic, we have addressed the concerns of the City of Vancouver and the Police to develop a route that can be used for years to come" explained event director Jonathan Wornell.

The Wedgewood Hotel, Washington Marine Group, Bean Around The World Coffee, Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic, and Body & Soul Fitness sponsor the Wedgewood Cycling Team.
