Symmetrics Heads to El Salvador

Symmetrics Cycling is heading to the Vuelta Cicilist a El Salvador today, for a 9-stage race held over 7 days.

Last year the team had great success at the event, with four stage wins and leading the race for several days. This year, the team heads back with the aim of winning the overall.

The race begins this Saturday, April 28 and will finish May 4 with the total distance for the race at 1015km. The key stages for the S-Team are the second stage which is a 9.5km TT, and the 4th stage which is a 40km Team Time Trial. The 8th stage finishes with a torturous mountain-top finish with over 3000 ft of climbing!

The Symmetrics Cycling team for the event is:

Svein Tuft
Cam Evans
Andrew Randell
Andrew Pinfold
Christian Meier
Zach Bell
Eric Wohlberg
Jeff Sherstibitoff
Will Routley

The team hopes that after the Vuelta, Tuft will move up from his second place, to first in the UCI America Tour, and with the S-Team being even stronger than last year, there are definite hopes for a very excellent showing. Geoff Brown will be the wrench for the event, with Sophie St. Jacques working as soigneur. Gustavo Carillio will direct the team.

Fast facts: The team is bringing 20 Norco bikes to the race, 14 sets of Shimano carbon race wheels, 9 disc wheels, 11 Rudy Project TT helmets, two extra Rudy Project racing helmets, 300 water bottles, 500 PowerGels, 500 PowerBars, and enough Refresh drink mix to quench the thirst of Alberta.
