Louis Garneau Sports proudly presents the new Garneau-Crocs cycling team, made up of 8 talented cyclists from Quebec and Nova Scotia, as well as Australia and Brazil. This senior team, with its international flair, has once again been created to support young aspiring cyclists and help them blossom into professional athletes. The team's technical director, just like last year, will be Mr. Alain Veilleux, father of the Canadian champion David Veilleux.

Once again this year, the senior team can count on Jamie Lamb, from Nova Scotia, who finished in the third place at the Canadian Championship in the Espoir category. We have also introduced a junior development team, made up of 10 young cyclists who will be wearing the same colors as the senior team. Mr. Jean-Yves Labonté, who is well-known in cycling, will be the technical director of this young team.

The success of such a project requires the essential collaboration of all the partners. Those in charge of the Garneau Team are especially proud to team up with a sponsor like Crocs, maker of the famous sandals, as the official partner. Moreover, Ogilvy Renault (a law firm specializing in intellectual property, patents and trademarks), Info 800, Mercedes Benz, Aquafina, Shimano, Vittoria, Selle San Marco, FSA, Thule and Edge are extremely proud to support Canada's cycling youth.

In its first year of existence, the Garneau-Optik team demonstrated a strength that put other riders on their guard. Last year, Garneau-Optik won 36 podium positions, including 22 wins. This year, the Garneau-Crocs team will be just as formidable, with its new riders from Brazil and Australia, who will team up with the talented riders returning from last year's edition.

The Garneau-Crocs 2007 season began with the Classique Chlorophylle held in Pont-Rouge and Cap-Santé on April 22nd. Australian team member Tim Hucker finished in 4th place, despite the absence of some of his teammates. Jamie Lamb arrived in Québec on May 1st, while Brazilian Kleber Ramos Da Silva will join the team on May 16th. The Garneau-Crocs full team will participate in the international Tour de Beauce race to be held from June 12 to 17, 2007.

Louis Garneau wishes good luck to the team!
