Ontario Youth Development Camp

A project of the Ontario Cycling Association at Hardwood Hills Mountain Bike Centre, (between Barrie and Orillia).

Saturday, June 9 - Sunday, June 10, 2007

Age Group: Minime: age 13-14 Cadet: age 15-16 (Age as of December 31, 2007)

Purpose: To enhance athletes skills to be successful in competitive Mountain Biking. This camp has been designed to meet the needs of Minime and Cadet aged athletes who have competed in some form of organized racing (Citizens Race Events, Ontario Cup Events).

Participants should expect to gain the following by attending the camp:
Ideas and guidelines with regard to training for competition.
Improved technical riding skills.
Exposure to new training tools and methods.
A better understanding of what it takes to achieve race and training goals.
Pre Race strategies.
A social network amongst fellow racers.

Accommodations: Georgian Green Summer Hostel in Barrie, ON.

Transportation: Parents are responsible to drop athletes at Hardwood Hills off on Saturday morning (9:00am) and pick up on Sunday in the afternoon (3:30pm). Transportation will be provided to and from the hostel.

Meals: Saturday Lunch and Supper , Sunday Breakfast and Lunch. Athletes are welcome to bring snacks.

Coaches: The sessions will be delivered by dynamic, experienced coaches who will bring with them a wealth of knowledge and exciting new techniques.
