Franck Vandenbroucke Attempts Suicide

Italian press are reporting that Belgian rider Franck Vandenbroucke attempted suicide in Vermezzo, Italy, yesterday. Local reports say that Vandenbroucke is in a Milan area hospital, and is in critical condition. Vandenbroucke was one of Belgium's greatest stars in the late 1990s, winning both Paris-Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege, before he was caught with EPO at his house - an infamous incident, at which time he claimed the drugs were for his dog.
