MSA & St-Felicien Third in Best Event Balloting

The UCI has announced the winning World Cup events for the 2007 Rainbow Awards, and Canadian venues appeared on the podium in both the XC and DH categories. World Cup athletes, trade teams, journalists and sponsors vote on the World Cup Cross-country and Downhill/4-Cross events to determine which is the best in each category (Note: Our editor is one of approximately 10 journalists worldwide who is allowed to vote)

In the Cross-country category the classic Belgian event in Houffalize took top honours, ahead of Offenburg (Germany) and Saint-Felicien (Quebec, Canada). Special note was made of the fact that St-Felicien scored so highly despite being a last-minute replacement for Angelfire (USA).

In the Downhill it was Schladming (Austria) finishing first, followed by the World Cup Final in Maribor (Slovenia) and Canada's traditional stop Mont Ste Anne (Quebec).

Villabassa, Italy was voted the top Marathon World Cup, and will host the Marathon Worlds next year.
