Bike to Beat Obesity for The SickKids Foundation

Hello Everyone!

Some of you have known me for many years.

For those of you who do not know me at all, my name is Brock Picken, President of Brock's Ultimate Fitness (BUF).

In July of 2008, I will be cycling from Toronto, to Odyssey Fitness in Victoria, BC to raise awareness for Childhood Obesity, and raise funds for SickKids Hospital.

My event is called: "Bike to Beat Obesity"

SickKids and I share a vision, which is "Healthier Kids: a Better World". The bike ride is an estimated 2700 miles, which averaging 120 miles per day, will take me the entire month of July to complete. I will also be wearing a 'weight-suit' (weighing roughly 40 lbs), which will make me appear overweight. This is to further raise awareness, and to have extra space for sponsors logos.

I have chosen this cause, since raising awareness and funds for our obesity epidemic will move others to take preventative action. Over time, by fighting childhood obesity-related issues, we can reduce the incidence of other illnesses, such as diabetes and cancer.

Over the next 4 months before my ride, I will be making appearances in schools to educate children about the benefits of exercise and proper nutrition.

Any help at all with my quest would be greatly appreciated. To learn more about my event, or to donate, follow the link on my web site: www.biketobeatobesity.com

I would also appreciate you letting EVERYONE know about my event. The more people informed of my event, the closer I will get to my goal of raising $40,000 for SickKids.

For any questions or advice, or to book me to come to your school, please do not hesitate to call or email me! brockpicken@gmail.com

Yours in Strength & Wellness,

Brock Picken, President
