Cycling For Hope - 36 Hour Mountain Bike Race
Cycling For Hope - a youth-run, non-profit organization based in Ottawa is proud to announce Canada's first 36-hour mountain bike race, the "36 Hours of Hope".
Between July 18-20, 2008, hardcore, compassionate cyclists will race in the pristine wilderness of Haliburton, Ontario, raising funds and awareness for Cycling For Hope's charitable projects.
These projects promote the use of bicycles as a tool of empowerment for underprivileged youth in Canada and internationally. For example, they range from a Toronto-wide bicycle drive called "BikeFund", to using bikes as a re-integration tool for war-torn youth in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Riders can race solo, on three person teams, competitive and non-competitive six person teams, or as a corporate team. The race will begin at sunrise on July 19 and go until the evening of July 20. And what's better? Fully serviced accommodations are available on site.
Registration is now open and due to an overwhelming response, the event is expected to sell out quickly. Take advantage of early-bird rates until April 31st.
And, the best part of all is that it's all for charity. Cyclists using their love of cycling to aid others in need. It's perfect
