Neal Kindree took the Bronze medal at the 2008 MTB Pan Am Championships in San Juan de Los Morros, Venezuela.

Things turned out better than i had been expecting while competing in the Pan American Mountain bike Championship in San Juan Los Morros, Venezuela.

Having not been notified early enough to carry out a proper pre-race preparation for this event i hadn't set my sights too high.

I was caught behind a crash on the start loop which didn't take long to get past but enough time was lost to put me at the back of the group containing perhaps thirty athletes. By the end of the first lap i had moved into a respectable top 10 position and was putting almost more emphasis on drinking than pedaling. With steep climbs, dry air, 40C heat, and seven laps (16:30/lap) there was no other choice than to drink like a camel.
