Mike's Bike Shop Cup May 13th, Dieppe NB

A Windy Night For The 2nd Mike's Bike Shop Cup Race

The second night of racing in the Mike's Bike Shop Cup Series was held Tuesday night with fierce winds awaiting the riders. The fastest time for the night was put in by Alain Goguen who posted a 25:21. As always though, once the handicap system was applied, Alain's time was bumped to 28:39 dropping him to 13th place and the winner for the night was Conrad Belliveau with an adjusted time of 25:12.

The Mike's Bike Shop Cup is a series of weekly races held on Tuesdays nights at 6:30pm. The series also includes mountain bike cross country, criteriums, track, BMX and cyclocross events to be held later in the summer and fall. The overall winner of the series will pick a charitable organization to which a donation from the registration proceeds will be made.

The next race will be held Tuesday May 20th and will be the final time trial for the series. The registration takes place on Aviation Ave in Dieppe at 6:10 with the first rider starting at 6:30. Races are open to anyone with a bike and a helmet and triathletes are especially welcome. The handicap system ensures that anyone has a chance to win. For the time trial races there is a handicap based on skill level as well as a one based on use of aerodynamic equipment.
