The members of the Forest City Velodrome are getting geared up for our premier event of the year. The two day Ontario Track Championships are less than 2 weeks away. Racing begins Saturday afternoon May 31st at 5pm. Saturday events include the very competitive Sprint and Keirin Tournaments with "A", "B", and "C" divisions. Also, the FCV will be holding two separate Madisons. The new riders will perform at 9pm, with the Elite Madison starting at 9:30pm.

On Sunday June 1st there is a 5 event Omnium for all divisions, 138m TT, Scratch race, 2/3km TT, Points race, 500m/Kilo.... registration is at www.OntarioCycling.org. The entire weekend is open to all track racers from anywhere in Canada or the United States.

As an added bonus for the riders attending the Championships, the FCV has put up $250 per category that has 10+ riders entering the Omnium on Sunday..... also for any rider winning all 5 events in their Omnium a $50 cash prize will be awarded to categories with 6+ riders entering.

The FCV has invested in an Electronic Pacer bike to help build speed of all of our racers over the summer in preparation for track nationals at Burnaby in August. You will be able to book the pacer in the coming days.... visit the FCV website at www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca for updated information.

The June track 1 sessions are June 7th and June 14th, book you and your group for one of these Saturday mornings and come out to the Velodrome and have a "Blast". The track 1 sessions begin at 11am and run for a full 2 hours. Contact info@ForestCityVelodrome.ca to find out more information.

Summer Youth Training begins in June and is focused on riders 12 - 18 years old on Saturday afternoons from 4 - 6pm. If you have a youngster interested in cycling and wants to learn the skills of riding a bike these are the sessions for them..... we build our weekly program for the kids depending on the fitness level of the riders who come out..... The sessions are "FREE" and we supply the bikes for them to use. Thanks to Trillium Foundation and Communities in Action Active 2010 for helping with track time, bikes and helmets for the riders.

Come out to the Velodrome and experience the excitement.
