According to an article in today's Victoria Times Colonist, the Juan de Fuca Velodrome built for the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria is again in jeopardy of being torn down.

The West Shore Parks and Recreation Society (WSPR) has revived its hopes of locating the stadium next to Bear Mountain Arena by filling in the 1994 Commonwealth Games velodrome.

In a sense, it's back to the future. The original concept, presented two years ago by the West Shore Economic Development Association to WSPR, was for a soccer/rugby/football stadium where the velodrome now sits in the existing Juan de Fuca sporting complex.
