Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC #4
Kelso Conservation Area is all set to host the Plastiglas Ontario Cup this weekend!
Sunday, June 8th, 2008
Plastiglas Ontario Cup #4 will kick off this Sunday, June 8th at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, just off Highway 401. This classic mountain bike venue, on the scenic Niagara Escarpment, sets the perfect backdrop for a late spring Ontario Cup.
The 9 km course will take riders up the escarpment once a lap, and test their ability on the infamous mix of fast, smooth, and rocky trails that Kelso has to offer. Fans and spectators alike will enjoy complementary chairlift rides to the summit, which is where they can catch lots of the race action, and enjoy the views of the surrounding Halton Region. The RBC is helping support this event by covering everyone‚s gate fees on Sunday, as well as, funding the chairlift to be in operation over the course of the event on Sunday. The cross-country events will test racers over distances ranging from 7 ˆ45 km. The Experts and Pro/Elites will be racing from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm with all other events beginning at 8:30am.
The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series consists of 7 events taking place at premier mountain bike venues all across Ontario. Plastiglas Ontario Cup #5 is set for London at Boler Mountain, July 6th 2008.
