Ontario Cycling Association's Team Ontario MTB-XC Youth Development Day Camp

This is an invitation to all Youth Mountain Bike Athletes ages 10-14 to participate in a OCA Development Day Camp at Hardwood Mountain Bike Center. The goal for this day is to provide an opportunity for young athletes with a keen interest in Mountain Biking to experience some riding development with coaching from senior athletes in the province. Team Ontario coaching staff, will be at Hardwood to provide skill development on the trails.

Where: Hardwood Ski & Bike
When: Saturday July 12, 2008
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $15.00

Logistics:

• Parents can register for this opportunity by completing the attached application form, this application can be mailed to the Ontario Cycling Association or faxed to 416 - 4267349. There are 40 spots available for this experience. Sign up to secure your spot!
• Parents can drop riders off at Hardwood between 9:30-9:45 a.m.. Riders will participate in riding activities throughout the day. Lunch will be provided for all riders. Parents can pick up riders at the end of the day between 3:15-3:30 p.m..
• Parents are welcome to purchase a trail ticket from Hardwood and ride throughout the day while their son/daughter are participating in the Camp
• Riders will have an opportunity to ride with receive instruction from senior coaches on a variety of different trails at Hardwood and meet other riders their age who have a common interest in Mountain Biking.

10:00 - 11:00Session #1• Break into groups U15, U14, U13, U12, U11, and Girls Groups

11:00 - 11:15Break• Refuel & Rehydrate
11:15 - 12:15Session #2• Break into groups U15, U14, U13, U12, U11, and Girls Groups - opportunity to ride with coaches and complete development activities
12:15 - 12:45Lunch• Refuel & Rehydrate
12:45 - 1:30Biker Olympics• Fun Bike Events in an "Olympics" format
1:30 - 2:30Session #3• Break into groups U15, U14, U13, U12, U11, and Girls Groups
- opportunity to ride with coaches and complete development activities
2:30 - 2:45Break• Refuel & Rehydrate
2:45 - 3:15Mini-Race• Challenge by Choice Team Relay


Things to Remember:

• Each Rider should bring a Mountain Bike in good working condition. Any technical problems with bicycles will be taken care of by Hardwood Technical department and costs passed on to parents.
• Each Rider should have a water bottle or camel pack for riding during the day. Water will be provided on site.
• Riders should dress for the weather - we ride rain or shine!
