The programs for women at the Forest City Velodrome are continuing to expand. Building on a very successful 2008 season. It was our first year to offer a Junior and Elite Women's Program of Training and Racing. Many of the women who came to the Velodrome on a regular basis were new to cycling in 2008.

The 2009 Junior and Elite Women's program offers many incentives for young women athletes (not just cyclists) to participate in this opportunity. The volunteers at the FCV have scheduled 2 training camps in October and November. With more emphasis on recruiting & developing women, we will be able to have a feeder system for our elite women's squad. The ultimate goal of the program is to teach good sportsmanship through cycling and to win medals at competitions in the future.

The FCV has the ability to focus on the basics of track riding and build a solid foundation. We will continue to upgrade skills and fitness through the winter. If you are in another sport and want to try cycling indoors during the winter this program is for you. Whether your a runner, play hockey, speed skate or row, we have an opportunity for you to excel in a sport that is fast and exciting to participate in.

The Forest City Velodrome with the help of many volunteers offer, Free instruction, Free Track Time, Free Motorpacing, Free use of the Starting Gate, Funding toward start up costs, and most importantly Unlimited Fun. Thanks to Communities in Action for their support for the 2009 season
