The inability of the police to control traffic on the race circiut led to the cancellation of the 9th stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica.

The race organizer and officials decided the course, under the conditions, would be too dangerous (having spent some time in Costa Rica I can attest to the poor condition of many roads and the congestion on them - ed).
