Team Tibco Adds Canadian to Roster
Team Tibco, the California-based women's road squad run by former Canadian Olympian Linda Jackson has added multi-time Canadian champion Julie Beveridge to their roster for 2009.
The team is on track for a very successful 2009. Our development team will be folded into our national team to provide these athletes with mentoring from what are now some of the best riders in the world. We have added four new faces (Julie Beveridge, Emma Rickards, Kat Carroll and Meredith Miller) to our ten returning riders. Our goals are simple: build on the success and cohesiveness we established last year
and win every race we compete in!
2009 promises to be our best season ever. Along with building a very strong roster, we have brought on an incredible talent to help Linda with Director Sportif responsibilities: Jeff Corbett. Jeff has an extensive background in cycling. He is currently Assistant Technical Director for the Tour of Missouri and Tour de Georgia and prior to that was Director Sportif for Health Net presented by Maxxis (2004-2007).
Our race calendar kicks off with Amgen’s Tour of California in Santa Rosa on February 15th, where we will be looking to repeat last year’s win. The team will then have a training camp in mid-March in Southern California leading into our first stage race of the year, the Redlands Classic.< ;br>
Looking forward, we plan to keep on growing our team so that we can get our riders the international racing they need in 2010 to start preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games. We look forward to sharing the exciting road that lays ahead.
