Cadel Evans (Silence - Lotto) demonstrated his form today with his win at the 1st stage of the Dauphine Libere. The stage is a short course of 12.1 km that runs through the streets of Nancy, France, and Evans who has not raced in over a month, won by 8 seconds over Alberto Contador (Astana).

 

Svein Tuft (Garmin - Slipstream) was the top Canadian in 67th spot.
