The day started sunny and hot but shortly before the racing started, clouds rolled in and the wind picked up.  The wind was a gusty headwind on the outbound run.

Defending Champion Anne Samplonious (Lip smacker) ran into a problem on the final cornern when her brakes failed and she missed the turn.

Update on Alex Wrubleski who will not be racing Nationals.  According to national coach Vincent Jordain, Wrubleski has been suffering from a medical condition that leaves her fatiqued.  She has returned to Calgary where she has been undergoing tests to determine the cause.  Wrubleski has received a medical exemption from competing at Nationals (required for Road Worlds selection) .  Alex we hope you are well soon!!
