The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce that, through the collaboration and partnership of Cycling BC, Richard Wooles will serve as National Track Coach for the 2009-2010 season. Richard will maintain duties with Cycling BC and will undertake specific projects and duties in support of the National Team program.

Richard brings to the Association a wealth of coaching experience that includes specialist skills in track endurance and track sprint.  Richard was the National Team coach for Canada at the last Olympic Games.

In addition to his past experience with the National Team, Richard has spent the past three years working with Cycling BC and the previous two years with the UCI World Cycling Centre in Switzerland, where he held the position of Track Sprint & Endurance Coach.  Prior to his work with cycling’s international governing body, he was Head Coach of the Women’s National Program for Great Britain’s Olympic Cycling Team.

Richard also has extensive experience as a competitive cyclist and competed for ten years in national and international events, including World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
