The FQSC (Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes) is proud to announce the engagement of Josée Robitaille as the Coordinator of Road, Track and Paracycling. The Director of the Volkswagen-Specialized team will assume her new role as of August 17th, succeeding Sylvain Richard.

“After 25 years as director of a cycling team, I was ready to take up a new challenge and I am happy to accept this opportunity which is offered to work for the FQSC.  Cycling clubs constitute the cornerstone of the development of our sport. I believe I will be able to contribute a significant share to this area,” explained Josée Robitaille.

“The [VW-Specialized] team will continue to evolve without me. The base structures in place are sufficiently solid so that the team will continue its activities during the next years. This kind of formation is fundamental to make it possible for athletes to reach higher levels in the sport,” added Robitaille, who has had several riders reach the professional ranks.

During coming months, the new coordinator will have several challenges to face, including the lack of an indoor velodrome, the recruitment of new paracyclists, and the growing popularity of cyclosportives.

“The FQSC has built a reputation of excellence over the past years for the level of its athletes, its clubs, its officials, its coaches and its events. Josée Robitaille has a lot of experience, and will certainly be able to help improve our organization,” stated André Michaud, President of the FQSC.
