Stage 22 - Mourenx to Bordeaux 200 km

A break of 8 riders went clear at the 45 kilometre mark. Although there were no threats to Armstrong's overall lead, the sprinters' teams pulled everything back together with 14 kilometres to go. Tom Steels (Mapei Quick Step) took his third stage of the Tour, ahead of Australian Robbie McEwen and Green Jersey holder Erik Zabel (Deutsche Telekom). US Postal Georg Hincapie was 4th and Silvio Martinello 5th. Stuart O'Grady (second in the Green Jersey competition) crashed in the final kilometre. Armstrong and all the other top contenders finished in the bunch.

Happy Birthday To...

Mountain Biker Guido Visser.
