The Third annual 'We Need More Cowbell' cyclocross race will take place on Saturday September 12th in St. Catharines at Burgoyne Woods Park.

For the this year we are proud to announce the Title sponsor -Cx fever.com

CXFever is a website dedicated to those who have Cyclocross Fever. In 2008, the web-site creators decided to try cyclocross and immediately caught "The Fever”.  Part of that plan for the 2009 season was to create a website dedicated to all things cyclocross. This website has a forum to share the passion, give advice, list races, results and offer a selection of cyclocross related products via the web based store. Also the site will be carrying “the crack of cyclocross” dugast tubular tires to arrive in mid September.

The course will be mainly a pancake flat fast grass course with technical turns.  The course will be taped off except for "no brainer" areas where course will be obvious. The loop will be 2.8-3K long and will have one, YES ONE, set of barriers and one slight run up; unless you are super good at riding uphill then it is no run ups.

Changes for this year include the Hub Cycle prologue loop and cash primes for the master 1, Elite men and Women racers. The primes are sponsored by Clifford Vanclief of Hub bicycle shop  . A kid's race will take place at 12:40 on the shortened prologue loop and should be the highlight of the day. Other sponsors include Vellendtech, HandleBars C.C., Turkstra Lumber, and Sheldon Pest Management.

On site we will have a  power washer, bike stand and a mechanic to help out with "Oh my God my bike does not work" issues. Also look for the new Guru Venio Cross bike that will be on display. Unfortunately Sven Nys and Bart Wellens declined their starting contracts, Eric Box has to go to the bike show so the elite men's race is wide open this year.

There will be coffee, muffins, and fruit on site at no cost.

The park has a play-ground and a dog park. These areas are not on the course but are within walking distance. Parking and washrooms are on site.

Hope to see everyone there on the 12th. And if you have a fever there is only one prescription COWBELL (and maybe Tylenol 3.)
