In conjunction with the start of off-season winter training, the Pacific Cycling Centre in Victoria has two camps planned over the next two months. The fall training camp from November 5 - 8 is full, but a winter camp is planned from December 10 - 13.

The winter training camp is focused on strength, core stability/endurance, flexibility and balance. Daily group rides aim to develop and improve endurance and boost aerobic capacity for both road race and short distance track cyclists. The camp includes a presentation on the usage of power meters and riding economy.

This camp is open to all levels of athletes, with riders divided into groups - each group being led by one of PCC's elite or Olympic athletes, in the presence of head coach Houshang Amiri.

"Our training camps are targeted at specific goals and objectives," says Amiri. "During the rides we work on cycling technique, while each athlete will be observed and given feedback. This will prepare our athletes for the demanding cycling season."
