March 9/10 11:33 am - Gran Prix style Sprint Qualifying Introduced at FCV

The Forest City Velodrome in London Ontario is pleased to introduce an exciting new format for Sprint Qualifying during the next tworace events at the 138m indoor Velodrome.

In an effort to add some spectator appeal to the qualifying procedure for speed events, riders will have three minutes to set their fastest time and advance into the "Thunder Pro Cycling Series".  The total number of riders entered in the event will be split into 4 groups.  Each group of 8-12 riders will be given time to complete their qualification efforts.

The quickest 18 riders will advance into the "Thunder Pro Cycling Series" Tournament, where $500 per event will be on the line.

The next race night "FCV Speedfest 2010" is Saturday March 27th at 7pm.
