GT Agrees to Acquire Syncros

August 24, Santa Ana - GT announced today that has agreed to acquire Syncros, a Canadian manufacturer of specialty mountain bike components.

"Syncros has stood out as a supplier of high quality parts for the core enthusiast," said Steve Cuomo, GT's vice president of product design and engineering. "It's true the market has been incredibly competitive in recent years and it has been tough for smaller companies to survive. Syncros is one of the few that have managed this long and they've done it with great designs and innovative ideas. With the infrastructure and support of GT behind it, Syncros co-founder Peter Hamilton and company general manager Leana Trogi can focus on designing new components and building the Syncros brand," added Cuomo.

"We feel the Syncros brand compliments our OEM and aftermarket requirements extremely well," said Andrew Herrick, director of marketing for GT. "Even under new ownership, the Syncros name will remain strongly associated with its Canadian roots and it will continue to stand for individuality, quality and performance." added Herrick.
