The National Para-cycling team travelled to Baie-Comeau, QC, last weekend to pre-ride the challenging 2010 Road World Championships course. The trip began right after competing at the Road and Track Para-cycling National Championships where strong performances were achieved.

Eric Van den EyndeOn July 9th, 16 National Team athletes jumped on a mini-bus along with Para-cycling National Team coaches, Eric Van den Eynde and Sébastien Travers and Sport Psychologist, Dr. Pierre Beauchamp. Dr. Beauchamp was provided with the opportunity to observe the athletes and run individual session and will meet again with the athletes, next month.

“Even though it was a short trip, it proved to be extremely valuable for the team,” commented Travers. “Given the hilly course, we need to find smaller gears for some of the athletes while others went home even more motivated to become leaner for Race Day!”

The final team selection will be announced on July 19th.
