After 3 days of rain the sun has appeared and it is a beautiful sunny day.  It will still be very wet and muddy in the woods

 

110 108 women on the start line for a start loop plus 5 laps.

 

Be sure to check out the course map and profile  with heart rate and speed.

 

A real bottleneck on the first climb.

 

Start loop

Start lap 1/2 way e and it is Nathalie Schneitter (Bikepark.Ch Scott) leading Eva Lechner (Colnago Arreghini Sudtirol) and Willow Koerber (Subaru-Trek).  Catharine Pendrel (Luna) is well back in the bunch so it appears she did not have a good start.

 

Lap 1

11:28 to complete the start loop

At the end of the start loop:  Nathalie Schneitter leading Eva Lechner and Willow Koerber. Julie Bresset (BH-Suntour) 4th, Georgia Gould  (Luna Pro Team) 5th

Catharine Pendrel   (Luna Pro Team) 13th already over 1 min down. Marie-Helene Premont (Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain) 15th . Emily Batty  (Trek World Racing)  20th

Eva Lechner has taken over the lead followed by Schneitter and Koerber.  Julie Bresset 4th, Gould 5th, Leumann 6th, Nash 7th, Marielle Saner-Guinchard  8th, Irina Kalentieva 9th,  Premont 10th

Schneitter and Lechner together in the lead with Koerber at under a second back.

Lap 2

Starting lap 2:  Schneitter, Lechner at 2 sec,  Koerber at 5 sec. Bresset 4th at 41 sec, Gould 5th at 1:05, Nash 6th, Suss 7th, Leumann 8th, Premont 9th, Kalentieva 10th.  Pendrel 18th at 2:32 back, Batty  23rd  at 3:06 back.

Schneitter has taken a small gap on Lechner.  Koerber at 15 sec.  Bresset alone in 4th, Gould 5th, Nash 6th, Suss 7th, Leumann 8th, Premont 9th, Saner-Guinchard 10th

Through the feedzone and Schneitter has opened a good gap on Lechner - 10+ sec.  Koerber still 3rd but another  5 sec.

 

Lap 3

 

As they start the 3rd lap: Schneitter leading with Lechner at 29 sec. Koerber 3rd at 45 sec.  Bresset 4th 1:33,  Nash 5th at 2:06, Gould 6th, Suss 7th, Leumann 8th, Osl 9th, Premont 10th at 3:05 back. 

Pendrel 15th,  Batty 23rd

On the long technical descent,  it is Schneitter with Lechner at 25 sec.  Korber at  36 sec, Bresset at 55 sec, Nash at 1:35, Gould at 2 min.  Premont 9th, Kalentieva 10th.  Mary Mcconneloug 13th

Pendrel 15th at over 3 min back, Batty 20th

 

Lap 4

 

Starting the 2nd last lap

 

Schneitter with Lechner at 33 sec. Korber at 50 sec.  Bresset 4th, Nash 5th, Suss 6th, Leumann 7th, Gould 8th, Osl 9th, Kalentieva 10th.  Premont now 14th at 4:14 back, Pendrel 15th at 4:51 back

Batty 24th, Sin 36th, Walter 46th, Vipond 82nd, Mikaela Kofman  DNF, Marie-Claude Surprenant DNS

Thye are ~ 1/2 way through the 4th lap.  Pendrel has started to move up and is just off the back of a group with Kalentieva, Osl, Gould etc

As they start hte final lap;  Schneitter leading with Lechner at 1:24.  Korber 3rd at 2:10.  Bressett 4th at 3:10.  Nash 5th at 4:40, Suss 6th, Osl 7th,

 

Premont 14th, Pendrel 16th, Batty 25th, Sin 29th, Walter 44th
