If you plan to spend this entire holiday weekend sitting on your butt digesting turkey, make sure that you tune in to Sportnet‚s Canadian coverage of the Gravity Games, starting this Monday. Between burps you‚ll notice that Schwinn has sponsored the show with a sexy 2000 Powermatic and some other funky gear. And if you can get your nieces and nephews to stop throwing cranberry sauce at each other long enough, you‚ll also notice that Sportsnet will be airing the games every Monday night for the next 3 weeks˜for a total of close to 160 spots for Schwinn! Letter from Italy

Hi everyone,

It was great to have my Mom and Dad out here in Italy to watch the race on Sunday (Oct. 10th). I hadn't seen them in 10 months, as they had never been to europe, or a european bike race before. They really enjoyed it, and the race anouncer made a big deal about having visitors all the way from Canada -introducing them in front of the finish line crowd.

The event was the 48th Gran Premio Pretola, a national sanctioned event, coursing over 167 very hilly kilometers. Slawomir Kohut (Poland) of the Italian team Miche-Penna, took top honors after a 10km solo effort, and my chase group of 10 riders sprinted in for the remaining placings. My SC REDA - Baggioni teammate Eliseo Dal Re placed 3rd, and I managed 8th. There were 130 starters, and about 20 finishers.

We are leaving for another race today, so I have to keep this one short. More news on Wednesday.
