February 1/11 12:25 pm - Final Preparations Underway for FCV Marathon

Saturday night, February 5th, will be the largest payout for a bicycle track race in Ontario ever. The Thor Espresso Bar (Toronto) is the main sponsor of the marathon event. The racers will complete 1380 laps (190.350 kilometres) to determine the strongest and fittest track racer in the country.

$5,000 plus bonuses is on offer, as 24 of best track racers in Canada take to the Forest City Velodrome at the Old Ice House in London. The 190 kilometre affair will feature a top prize of $2,500 to win. The racing promises to be fast and furious, with the highly banked 138 metre velodrome rumbling at speeds reaching 60+ kph.

The field will be the deepest ever seen at the six year old facility. Riders from Canada's national team will be in attendance for top honours. The racing starts at 6:00 pm. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for Seniors, Kids are always FREE.
