Friday, SpiderTech powered by C10 formally introduced Canada's first Professional Continental UCI team. Held at the Hockey Hall of Fame, the launch represents the beginning of Steve Bauer's move into the upper echelon of professional cycling teams.

Bauer began the presentation by reminiscing about his first day in the Tour de France Yellow Jersey, and used that as a jump off point to reiterate his goal of taking a Canadian team to the Tour. An impressive list of Canadian talent was then introduced, and the all-important collection of sponsors who have bought into this dream.

Finally, Steve spoke about his plan to encourage hockey players to participate in cycling. This is not a pipedream; Steve himself was a promising Junior hockey player, as were Guillaume Boivin (bronze medal at the 2010 Road Worlds) and Keven Lacombe from the current SpiderTech squad.
