Tomac Signs Multi-Year Deal with Race Face

Vancouver, B.C. - Race Face Components Inc., one of North America's leading producers of high performance mountain bike components and clothing, is proud to announce that it has signed American mountain bike racing legend, John Tomac and Team Tomac riders, to a multi-year sponsorship deal. Starting immediately and continuing through the 2001 race season, Team Tomac will ride Race Face cranks, bottom brackets, chain-rings, and head-sets on all their cross-country and downhill bikes. Additionally, Team Tomac will ride Race Face Lycra wear for racing and training.

"We're obviously very excited about signing once again with John and his team," said Craig Pollack, President of Race Face. "We have been with Tomac for three years already and it has been a great relationship for both parties. We're excited about extending it into the future with John and Team Tomac. John is one of our sport's premier riders and he is one of the world's most recognized mountain biking personalities."

"John is an excellent fit for our company due to his long-term commitment to excellence in both his racing and in building the sport. He, and the rest of the team members, will continue to be an integral part of our R&D team, providing valuable technical feedback that will help us continue to develop components that are both innovative and durable," adds Pollack.

"Team Tomac, for the first time, will also ride our Lycra wear. Our softgoods business is expanding rapidly and this is a great opportunity for us to really increase our profile and to work with John in developing new and innovative clothes. We also will co-distribute with Tomac, a line of Tomac/Race Face Lycra race and casual wear that will be available for the global public to buy. The clothes will be available in Spring 2000 and will be sold by both Race Face and Tomac dealers," said Pollack.

Among his long list of mountain bike racing accomplishments, Tomac was selected as Mountain Bike Action's rider of the year in 1996, a year in which he was crowned the NORBA Cross-Country Champion. During his career, "Johnny T" is a six-time World Championship title winner, a ten-time USA National Championship title winner, and has been a World Cup Champion and a three-time Vice-Champion. When not racing or training, he spends time with his wife and two sons at his ranch in Colorado.

Race Face Bicycle Components Inc. is a manufacturer of high-end performance mountain bike components and clothing. Sixty-five full-time employees currently produce cranks, bottom brackets, chain-rings, seatposts, handle-bars, head-sets, and a life-style cycling clothing line for sale in thirty countries worldwide.
