Report from Napa World Cup

Rob has arrived in Napa and one of the first people he ran into was Peter Wedge. Peter had been training on the course today and reports it is very rough, as in the ground surface is rough. "Three laps and my arms are hurting.........."

The course is set up with nearly all of the climbing during the first third of each lap. From the start the riders do a 2.4km (1.5 m) start loop. They will then head out onto the main part of the course, immediately hit singletrack and start climbing, going from 100' to 620' in the first 1.5 km. From the top of the climb they will roller coaster down to the start finish for a total lap distance of 6.4 km (4 miles). View the course map and elevation Course Map.

As of 4pm local time it had not yet been decided whether the men would do 6 or 7 laps and the women 5 or 6 laps. Best estimate is that it will be 20 minutes/lap for the Elite Men's race.
