OCA News

I am pleased to announce that the OCA has signed a $20,000 title sponsor deal with Source for Sports, a Burlington based sporting goods company. The package is made up of cash and value in kind (V.I.K.) which includes O-Cup leaders jerseys and Provincial Champion jerseys.

The OCA's O-Cup series will now be known as the Source for Sports O-Cup. This a major foray into competitive cycling for Source for Sports and I am looking forward to working with them to further this relationship.

Canadian Cyclist Magazine, last years sponsor of the road numbers, has agreed to a sponsorship deal for 2000 that includes official OCA number "plates" for road and mountain bike racers.

The value of the sponsorship is $ 4,500.00. This amount is made up of cash and services in kind. The most notable being the management and reconstruction of our web site. I anticipate that this process will begin around the end of April. Some minor delays in service can be expected as work progresses.

I wish to thank Christian Hansen for his dedication in managing the web site for the past year. It was through his hard work and dedication that the site became our most effective communication tool.

Christian will continue to co-ordinate and update the Road and Track section of the site, and Al Hawley will continue to update the Mountain Bike race results. I would like to acknowledge their past, present and future efforts on behalf of our Association.

Jim Crosscombe
OCA President
