June 30/12 11:35 am - Windham World Cup: Elite Women's XC Updates

The Elite women are now on course and will do 5 laps of the course.  The start still in the downtown Windham, making the first lap a bit longer.

 

Lap 1

Catharine Pendrel (Luna Pro Team) attacked from the gun, and took a small gap on Georgia Gould (Luna Pro Team)

 

Premont took the early lead on the gravel climb, but was passed by Gould

 

11:44 am

1/2 way through the first lap:    Gould leading Premont by 3 sec, Katerina Nash (Luna Pro Team) 3rd at 9 sec, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Multivan Merida Biking Team) 4th at 12 sec, Katrin Leumann (Ghost Factory Racing Team) 5th at 22 sec, Pendrel 6th at 26 sec

Emily Batty (Subaru - Trek) 11th at 50 sec

 

Editor says: "The wind has picked up making it a bit cooler on the side of the hill"

 

 

Lap 2  11:52 am

Heading out lap 1 end   Gould leading Premont and Nash  at 11 sec.  and Dahle at 12 sec.  Pendrel 5th at 25 sec

 

Batty 11th at 1:07

 

12:03 pm

1/2 way into the 2nd lap, Gould leading Pendrel, Nash and Premont at 30 sec.  Dahle at 31 sec

Katrin Leumann (Ghost Factory Racing Team) 6th at 1:10, Irina Kalentieva (Topeak Ergon Racing Team) 7th at 1:17

Emily Batty (Subaru - Trek) 14th at 2:08

 

Lap 3

12:10 pm

Starting the 3rd lap.  Gould leading.  Pendrel and Nash together at 27 sec.  Dahle and Premont at 38 sec

 

Lea Davison (Specialized Racing) 6th at 1:27

 

12:15 pm

Pendrel and Nash are closing the gap to Gould, now ~20 sec

 

12:22 pm

1/2 way around lap 3 and  Gould has opened up the gap to her teamamates Pendrel and Nash to 29 sec

Dahle 3rd at 39 sec, Premont 5th at 55 ec, davison 6th at 1:32, Kalentieva 7th at 1:37, Alexandra Engen (Ghost Factory Racing Team) 8th at 1:57, Annie Last  (Milka Brentjens MTB  Racing Team) 9th at 2:04, Mary McConneloug (Kenda /Seven/Notubes) 10th at 2:33

Batty 13th at 3:13

 

Lap 4

12:29 pm

Heading out onto the fourth lap and Gould has 31 seconds on Pendrel and Nash.  Dahle at 40 sec, Premint 5th at 1:04, davison 6th at 1:42, Kalentieva 7th at 1:56

 

It is getting quite windy.  Ohio through New jersey got hit with heavy storms last night.  Wonder if it a storm front is moving North???

Pendrel starting to drop Nash

 

12:40 pm

1/2 way through the lap, Gould leading Pendrel by 42 sec.  Nash 3rd at 50 sec. Dahle 4th at 1:29, Premont 5th at 1:29, Davison 6th at 1:54

 

Batty  14th at 4:48. The heat is really getting to her

 

Starting the last lap

Gould.  Pendrel and Nash together at 45 sec, Dahle 4th at 1:06, Premont 5th at 1:41, Davison 6th at 2:10

Last time up the climb and Pendrel has attacked Nash and opened a gap of  ~ 15 sec on Nash

1/2 way around.

 

Gould with a 55 sec gap on Pendrel.  Nash at  1:06.  Dahle 4th at 1:22, Premont 5th at 1:46

 

It is going to be a Luna 1-2-3 and Georgia Gould will win her first ever World Cup
