July 11/12 13:58 pm - Fernie Bike Park GPS Gravity Enduro

Posted by Editoress on 07/11/12

This is no ordinary Bike Race: The GPS Gravity Enduro stands in stark contrast with "point A to point B" mountain bike races in that there is no finish line. Racers will be turned loose in the Fernie Alpine Resort Bike Park for the whole day to collect 4 hours of GPS data (time spent on chairlifts and in line-up does not count toward cumulative statistics).  Racers determine their own racecourse from over 30 downhill mountain biking trails, but must hit 4 mandatory checkpoints during the day.photo

Progress will be monitored by Flaik GPS tracking.  Stats will be updated via the leader board at Race HQ, and via the world wide web.  After time limit has expired, GPS data will be tabulated and the winners determined according to Total Mileage, and Races-Within-the-Race:

• The Race Face Top Gun Downhill - lots of cool RF prizes
• The IceBreaker XC Loop - winner gets an IB merino wool jersey
• The Drift HD Speed Zone - highest speed wins a Drift HD Helmet Cam

Sunday July 15th at Fernie Alpine Resort
