September 30/12 22:06 pm - City of Toronto: Beare Road Park Master Plan Meeting Oct. 11th

Posted by Editoress on 09/30/12

It is especially critical that we have mountain bike representation at this meeting, since IMBA Canada staff will all be Santa Fe, NM for the IMBA World Summit at this time. Plans for the park include the potential for a mountain bike facility, and we NEED mountain bikers there to ask for and support this.

The voice of the environmentalists has been especially strong here (despite the fact that this is an old land fill site), and unless we are able to balance the conversation with the positive aspects of recreation, we stand to lose access to this area for mountain biking as well.

PLEASE, spread the word, and urge representatives from your clubs and circles of influence to be there. The more warm bodies we can have in the room, the better.
