October 14/12 13:50 pm - Update on Virus Attacking Website

It has been more than 24 hours since we have had an reports of virus warnings, or redirects sending readers to other sites, so we believe that we have resolved the issue affecting our site on Friday.  We are also getting reports that other cycling websites have been hit by the same virus.

It appears that a bit of hexidecimal code was inserted into Google text ads being served up on our website, which was causing the problem.  We temporarily removed the code for the ad server, ran diagnostics on the main database, ran anti-virus software through all the machines that have access to upload to the web server and, finally, narrowed it down to the Google text ads.
